Application Process

The application process is as follows:

Stage 1A (9 May 2016 - 1 July 2016)

Applicants may download and complete the DSA Application Form

Hardcopies can also be obtained from SQSS General Office during office hours (Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm). Submission with supporting documents should be made in person or by registered post to:

Applications via fax and/or electronic mail will NOT be accepted. Note that application closes on 1 July 2016. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

List of Supporting Documents:

  • Certified true copies of Primary 5 End-of-Year and 6 Mid-Year result slips, showing all academic results, CCA/s and conduct

For International Students / Students not studying in MOE schools

International students or students not studying in MOE schools, including Singapore Citizens (SC) and permanent residents (PR) will require a letter issued by MOE HQ before they apply through DSA. The letter will contain a unique Registration Number, which will help identify the candidate in the system. The letter may be obtained from MOE HQ Customer Service Centre, located in 1 North Buona Vista Drive, Podium Block MOE Building, Singapore 138675.

Applications from international students without Dependant's Pass (DP), Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) and whose parents are not SC/PR may be considered, however applicants must take part in the AEIS (Admission Exercise for International Students) test.

Stage 1B (15 July 2016 - 29 July 2016)

Short-listed applicants will go through an interview and will be assessed by a panel made up of School staff and Volleyball coaches. To ensure a more holistic picture of the child we are accepting, we will also be interviewing their parents to find out more about their concerns and the child's needs. We will then be able to ascertain their financial and academic needs and expectations. These interviews will also allow us to bridge the child's and parent's commitment towards our Volleyball programme in the long run.

Stage 1C (19 August 2016)

After completion of Stage 1A & 1B, all results will be compiled and applicants will be notified of the selection outcome. A letter will be issued to all applicants informing them

  1. if they have been given a Confirmed Offer (CO);
  2. placed on the Waiting List; or
  3. rejected by 19 August 2016. Applicants given a Confirmed Offer are guaranteed a place in the school in a course [Special, Express, Normal (Academic) or Normal (Technical)] which the student is eligible for. This is based on the PSLE aggregate of the student. The school reserves the right to not release the results and details of the audition and interview.

Stage 2 (24 October 2016 - 28 October 2016)

On 24 October 2016, MOE's Pupil Placement Section (PPS) will send a School Preference Form to all applicants through their primary schools. Those not studying in MOE schools will need to collect their School Preference Forms from MOE Customer Service Centre. Candidates who have been identified under the Confirmed List and the Waiting List of a school will be asked to indicate their school preferences, up to a maximum of 3 schools. This can be done at their primary schools or online via the DSA-Sec IS from 24 - 28 October 2016.

Stage 3 (Late November 2016 - Tentative date)

After PPS has allocated candidates to the various schools (based on their indicated school preferences and selected school ranking), the results of the DSA-Sec Exercise will be announced together with their PSLE results. Non-mainstream candidates can collect their DSA-Sec results from MOE Customer Service Centre. Successful DSA-Sec candidates who took PSLE are NOT allowed to participate in the S1 Posting Exercise.
